2008 Downtown Penticton Association Board Members
At their Annual General Meeting on January 31st, 2008 the Downtown Penticton Association elected nine members to their Board.
Peter Benson of Okanagan Books, Cliff Bristow of Terwilliger’s Gifts, Andrew Jakubeit for the GrooveYard and Michael Doherty from White Kennedy Chartered Accountants were reinstated to the DPA Broad of Directors. The Board also welcomes new directors Rene Carloni from The Mortgage Centre, Ron Funk from Com Free Sales, Kirby Layng from City Centre Fitness, Sylvia Lilley from Allready Soups & Suppers and Mark Ziebarth from Bongarde Media Co. These nine join existing Board members Nora Chepil from Kenyon Group, Andre Martin from the Penticton Herald and Barb Winstanley of Poppin’s Quilt Parlour.
The newly elected board voted in their Executive Team for the year. Andrew Jakubeit will be this year’s President for the DPA. Mark Ziebarth accepted the role of Vice President. Nora Chepil was nominated to be Secretary for 2008 and Cliff Bristow will be the Treasurer. Peter Benson will also join the Executive team as Past President.
“We had a great turnout for our AGM this year with many businesses and property owners showing their interest and support for our progress as an organization” commented newly elected President Andrew Jakubeit. “We have a great Board of Directors this year and that want to get involved and make a difference. I am confident that the DPA will see great results from our objectives in 2008.”
The members of the Downtown Penticton Association are committed to the enhancement of the economic vibrancy of Downtown Penticton by providing a pleasant, attractive, unique, safe, positive and friendly business and urban environment for residents, visitors and our surrounding community
