Each day of the week from April 14-18 we will feature a fun event or promotion to say “thanks” to our downtown employees.  See the information below for details or check out the downtown website at www.downtownpenticton.org.  Opening Ceremonies are scheduled for 11am in the City Centre Building where the first 100 attendees will receive special prizes.

HOW TO GET INVOLVED

MERCHANTS:

Centennial Window Decorating Contest Winner

The Downtown Penticton Association is extremely happy to announce the first winner of the Centennial Window Decorating contest, Sew Fine Designs/the Classroom for Needle Arts.

“The Sew Fine Designs/The Classroom window display at 419 Main Street has been decorated for over a month depicting the contest theme “Love in the Roaring 20’s”, says Linda Toker organizer of this creative and fun downtown contest.

“At first glance it is obvious that Ann-Marie and Cathie put plenty of effort and creativity into their window display making them very deserving winners.”

There were also two runner’s up in the February contest whose efforts also should receive honorable mention:  June’s Fashion’s and Gifts, and The Bum Wrap.

The Downtown Penticton Association created the Centennial Window Decorating contest to support merchants in reflecting on the past 100 years in Penticton through their window displays.  It has created a fun and easy way to showcase Downtown’s Centennial spirit by supporting this important city celebration.

“Thank you to all the businesses who participated in the February contest.  We look forward to seeing lots of fun and creative windows as this contest progresses throughout the year,” explains Linda Toker.  “Each of the themes are entertaining and can be fashioned to fit many different business models”.

For more information about this contest and how it can benefit your business with free advertising, contact Linda or Corrie at the Downtown Penticton office at 493-8540.
